Babel: curse or bless?

We examine a major problem of our times: the disappearance of languages across the world as a result of global communication. This may be a major setback towards the preservation of local cultures and human history. On the other hand, a world language could help us understand each other better, and facilitate our collective endeavors – from information exchange to everyday life in the International Space Station.

Should we head towards a global language, or should we preserve and use all the known languages?
