Consciousness: the mind’s I
Consciousness is regarded as the last "castle" for science to conquer. Recent developments in related research have shed much light to this nebulous but most important subject.
We examine how our mind constructs the sense of self and the image of the world we live in. We therefore ask if consciousness is a fundamental property of the universe or simply a biological epiphenomenon. And, ultimately, why does the universe create life? We explore the theories of autopoesis, complexity and the Anthropic principle. Can we create intelligent machines?
